As a affair of fact, nosotros're getting set up to go to Italia in September. We're doing a thing for the Muhammad Ali Foundation at Andrea Bocelli's house. Then it'due south like the country guys sneak nether the debate," Dunn says with a smiling. "I've done it for the final 2 or 3 years and Kix is going to become exercise it with usa this twelvemonth. Reba got me involved in that."
Equally for future recordings with Brooks, Dunn says there are no plans. "There's no give-and-take about that. I'm having also much fun with this then what we're doing at Caesars," he says.

"The different element that came into play more than anything is working with Jay DeMarcus," Dunn says as he leans back in his chair in the conference room at Large Car's Music Row offices. "I didn't know where to get until I stepped up to the mic and started working with him on the first song. It's the least involved I've e'er been because I'1000 a control freak, but he didn't get out any gaps or dips in the production. He would send something over, and it'southward killer. It's crawly. Sonically it'due south correct where I want it to be. The songs are a blast."
Dunn says he was drawn to "Damn Drunk" because it's non your typical love song. "I like the edge of the title and I similar what the guy is saying," Dunn says. "He's not some sissy male child going, 'Hey, love your eyes! Like your hair.' He's going, 'Y'all know what? If you were a whiskey, I'd be a damn drunkard!' It's probably the author in me that attaches me to stuff similar that."

"I Want to Dear Like That Once more" only cruel out one day while he was at abode. "Ray Wiley Hubbard, a buddy from Austin, was [visiting] and he showed me this open 1000 tuning on the guitar," Dunn recalls. "I didn't mess with it for a long time, and one day I just picked it up and started walking through the house. I just played it all day long, and then the lyrics started coming to me, started painting the picture of that relationship that's gone on forever and they desire to become back to that betoken of where they are in dearest again. I was just going through the house in shorts, lawn tennis shoes and a T-shirt playing that riff one day, and that's how a song comes out. That'due south how it always works for me."

"I wish there was a crash course that labels would put yous through and/or direction to orient you as an artist when you are signed. There'due south way more to making a career work than just beingness able to stand up onstage or go into the recording studio and brand music, and I've seen those things take careers and artists out time and time once again. I got a call from a major promoter a couple of years ago with a very, very popular creative person right now. He was having feet and trouble out on the route to the point where he was breaking down. The promoter asked if he gave me his number would I phone call him and talk him down," says Dunn, who made the call. "[There are] things that I had learned the hard way similar yous've got to rest. You've got to hydrate, drinkable water, silly stuff that sounds mundane and normal, but you get out at that place on that adrenaline rush, on that fast-rails rocket headed to the height and it volition trounce yous downwardly in more than ways than one. Things commencement coming apart if you don't take intendance of yourself and concern."

Equally for today, Dunn is in a expert place. "I'm in the best head infinite that I've ever been, ever. Someone asked the other night, 'What's the best time that you've ever lived in?' and for me, it's now. I don't worry near much, but I worry all the time, just to stay in practise," he laughs.
